To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan and not quite enough time.

— Leonard Bernstein

About the Event & More

Join other environmental professionals at an open and collaborative Workshop discussion with public and private practitioners to leverage collective knowledge and experience on options for improved management of sediment megasites.

Keynote Speakers:

  • Walter Mugdan, Former Deputy Regional Administrator, USEPA Region 2
  • Shawn M. LaTourette, Commissioner, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection

The Preliminary Agenda will comprise Panel Sessions that will address key issues including:

  • Could early action/source removals be more effective than the RI/FS process?
  • The Consent Orders/Decrees templates are not designed to address Adaptive Management, so do they restrict remedy creativity?
  • Which components of RI/FS Process are of greatest benefit to defining, executing, and performing an early action/source removal?

The intent of the Workshop is to foster open discussions on how to better manage sediment megasites, achieve risk reduction, and return these important natural resources to the community as early and as efficiently as possible.

***Beer and Wine Reception to follow (5pm - 7pm)***
